EDGE network theoretically can provide a maximum bandwidth 384Kbps, actually; it works at 200~250Kbps bandwidth (it depends on service provider¡¯s operation policy). As we know, EDGE is packet based network which provides TCP/IP communication channel.
Same as GPRS network, EDGE network can provide a maximum bandwidth up to 384Kb/s and actual transmitting and receiving bandwidth reaches 200Kb/s.

GF Series router is a dedicated ideal data transmission channel for industrial applications. It can be operated at EDGE or CDMA 1x network by selecting a different radio module.
Features Functions
Non host support: Normally, EDGE Modem can be connected to a PC, and then dial an access number manually; it utilizes the PC resources to process the data transmission and protocol conversion. GF Series router is an embedded platform built-in with a processor, RTOS, protocol stack and application software. It works automatically without host PC.
Always online: GF Series Router will automatically attach to EDGE network When it is powered on, and then setup a transmission channel.
Toll on traffic: GF Series Router can be configured to work always online; it is charged according to traffic.
High speed: Maximum EDGE bandwidth can be 384kb/s,only 200¡«250kb/s can be reached at actual application.
